HISTORY – I wish I knew the history of my Galaxie. It was built in Louisville KY. I bought it off of a dealer in Michigan who purchased it from an individual in Flint Michigan. I doubt if it spent very much time in Michigan since it is almost rust free. Whoever had it all those years took very good care of it. The interior is all original and almost perfect. When I purchased it the engine had been rebuilt to stock and is in excellent mechanical condition. The only modifications that had been done was an addition of an Edelbrock Performer intake, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner and the Torq Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich tires. The original 4V intake was in the trunk along with the original valve covers and air cleaner. I looked for a very long time to find a 64 XL in good condition and in within my budget. My father bought my mother a new 64 Galaxie XL in 1964 from Bob Williams Ford in Montgomery Ohio. I loved that car and the interior was unbelievable for me as a ten year old. I learned how to drive in that car and would loved to have had the chance to own it. My father who always was willing to help out our family gave it to my uncle who was in a bad spot at the time and unfortunately he was in an accident and the car was gone forever. This car was my chance to capture some very good memories’ of my youth and teenage years. When I get behind the wheel, time melts away and I feel young again. I am thankful that I was able to live in that time period and have those great memories.
