HISTORY – Vehicle was originally ordered/delivered to southern Ohio where it spent its early 42 years. I tried but couldn’t get any history before the owner I purchased the vehicle from in 2005. The vehicle was pretty much gutted and went to Canada for body/paint. Engine was built in Detroit and transmission purchase off eBay and rebuilt. In 2015 the vehicle followed me to my retirement in Florida where she is housed today.

HISTORY – I wish I knew the history of my Galaxie. It was built in Louisville KY. I bought it off of a dealer in Michigan who purchased it from an individual in Flint Michigan. I doubt if it spent very much time in Michigan since it is almost rust free. Whoever had it all those years took very good care of it. The interior is all original and almost perfect. When I purchased it the engine had been rebuilt to stock and is in excellent mechanical condition. The only modifications that had been done was an addition of an Edelbrock Performer intake, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner and the Torq Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich tires. The original 4V intake was in the trunk along with the original valve covers and air cleaner. I looked for a very long time to find a 64 XL in good condition and in within my budget. My father bought my mother a new 64 Galaxie XL in 1964 from Bob Williams Ford in Montgomery Ohio. I loved that car and the interior was unbelievable for me as a ten year old. I learned how to drive in that car and would loved to have had the chance to own it. My father who always was willing to help out our family gave it to my uncle who was in a bad spot at the time and unfortunately he was in an accident and the car was gone forever. This car was my chance to capture some very good memories’ of my youth and teenage years. When I get behind the wheel, time melts away and I feel young again. I am thankful that I was able to live in that time period and have those great memories.

It also has a Selectaire Under-Dash A/C Unit Dad added a few years after he got the car. still running 3:50 rear gears.

HISTORY – Don’t know who the original owner was, Dad bought the car in 1966 from Merit Motors Here in Beaufort SC. Dad had always wanted an Xl car but this was a just a Galaxie 500. So he got parts when ever he could find them along the way. somewhere down the line he acquired the 63 xl seats and package tray. He was not a fan of the 64 xl seats He said they were to thin. He liked the bulk of the the 63 seats better. he also picked up the 427 sidewinder intake along the way. i have a bulk of the xl parts but not all of them. I have memories of riding in the car with the family as a kid. In 1980 Dad Parked the car and in 1983 it went to the shop were he worked. He was an Auto Mechanic for 40 plus years so i grew up around cars and learned what i could from him. In 2014 Dad retired so the car had to come back home it sat under a tarp for about 7 years outside. Unfortunately Dad Passed away 6 years ago he had always wanted to restore the car, but was never able to. So last year i restored the car after it had been sitting the last forty year as a tribute to Him. Everything has been rebuilt or replaced on this car to like new. It was in pretty rough shape when i started on it the floor boards and trunk floor were shot had to replace them along with body work and engine rebuild. Everything on the car i’ve done myself including paint. Have been Carrying it to car shows and having fun driving it just wish Dad was here to see it finished. This one stays in the family.
