HISTORY – Vehicle was originally ordered/delivered to southern Ohio where it spent its early 42 years. I tried but couldn’t get any history before the owner I purchased the vehicle from in 2005. The vehicle was pretty much gutted and went to Canada for body/paint. Engine was built in Detroit and transmission purchase off eBay and rebuilt. In 2015 the vehicle followed me to my retirement in Florida where she is housed today.

HISTORY – I wish I knew the history of my Galaxie. It was built in Louisville KY. I bought it off of a dealer in Michigan who purchased it from an individual in Flint Michigan. I doubt if it spent very much time in Michigan since it is almost rust free. Whoever had it all those years took very good care of it. The interior is all original and almost perfect. When I purchased it the engine had been rebuilt to stock and is in excellent mechanical condition. The only modifications that had been done was an addition of an Edelbrock Performer intake, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner and the Torq Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich tires. The original 4V intake was in the trunk along with the original valve covers and air cleaner. I looked for a very long time to find a 64 XL in good condition and in within my budget. My father bought my mother a new 64 Galaxie XL in 1964 from Bob Williams Ford in Montgomery Ohio. I loved that car and the interior was unbelievable for me as a ten year old. I learned how to drive in that car and would loved to have had the chance to own it. My father who always was willing to help out our family gave it to my uncle who was in a bad spot at the time and unfortunately he was in an accident and the car was gone forever. This car was my chance to capture some very good memories’ of my youth and teenage years. When I get behind the wheel, time melts away and I feel young again. I am thankful that I was able to live in that time period and have those great memories.

14 in. wheels with spinner hub caps white wall tires.

CURRENT – 390 -4v Thunderbird Special with a Holley 600 Carbretor, pertronix 3 electronic ignition, still has the 28 spline t 10 Toploader 4 speed transmission. it has a 1966 427 Sidewinder Aluminium Intake. It has Wilwood Disk brakes up front and a Wilwood duel master cylinder still running Manuel brakes, Manual steering . It running Ridler 695 Wheels 18×8 up front 20X8 rear on firestone firehawk tires. It has a pioneer audio system in it. Pioneer radio inside the console. dual exhaust with Smithy’s Mufflers. Also Currently running 1963 xl seats and a 64 xl console. It also has a Selectaire Under-Dash A/C Unit Dad added a few years after he got the car. still running 3:50 rear gears.

HISTORY – Don’t know who the original owner was, Dad bought the car in 1966 from Merit Motors Here in Beaufort SC. Dad had always wanted an Xl car but this was a just a Galaxie 500. So he got parts when ever he could find them along the way. somewhere down the line he acquired the 63 xl seats and package tray. He was not a fan of the 64 xl seats He said they were to thin. He liked the bulk of the the 63 seats better. he also picked up the 427 sidewinder intake along the way. i have a bulk of the xl parts but not all of them. I have memories of riding in the car with the family as a kid. In 1980 Dad Parked the car and in 1983 it went to the shop were he worked. He was an Auto Mechanic for 40 plus years so i grew up around cars and learned what i could from him. In 2014 Dad retired so the car had to come back home it sat under a tarp for about 7 years outside. Unfortunately Dad Passed away 6 years ago he had always wanted to restore the car, but was never able to. So last year i restored the car after it had been sitting the last forty year as a tribute to Him. Everything has been rebuilt or replaced on this car to like new. It was in pretty rough shape when i started on it the floor boards and trunk floor were shot had to replace them along with body work and engine rebuild. Everything on the car i’ve done myself including paint. Have been Carrying it to car shows and having fun driving it just wish Dad was here to see it finished. This one stays in the family.

HISTORY – She was born in Pico Rivera, Ca on March 16,1964. She was sold on Oct 8, 1964 from Hale Young Ford in Long Beach, Ca. The dealership unfortunately is no longer in business today and I haven’t found any history about it.
I bought her in 2018 in Palmdale, parked on a street with a “For sale” sign taped on her. After looking at her several times, I decided on the purchase.
I put in lot of hours to get her in a decent shape and I’m still working on her.
I don’t have any history on her, other than the previous stated. I hope to get some more information from the DMV.

ORIGINAL – I know it was built in Atlanta (A) and I have an old shipping paper that says it was built in December of 1963. I don’t know the original color, but I believe he told me it was originally blue. 289 engine. 3-speed cruise-o-matic.”

CURRENT –

HISTORY – I bought this car in September of 1998 from a guy in Palm Beach, FL for $3,500. It was in bad shape when I received it. I’ve dumped a lot of money into it over the past 25+ years.
It got rear-ended in front of my house circa 2003 (?) Was considered totaled. I bought the back end of another Galaxie Convertiable and had a welder put on the right rear fender. Looks great.
Had problems with the 289 so had a different one put in circa 2016.
Car is restored to 1964 except: (a) I have a GM alternator in there (no Ford Generator) (b) a 1967 Ford power steering pump (c) power front breaks (d) no sunvisors because they broke the first day I owned the car. However, this could change soon.
I love “my Gal”. The mothership is a real head-turner. I’ve had grown men cry in front of me when they see it. Ladies like it too, which is nice. I like it the most, though.

ORIGINAL – Samoan Coral with black vinyl top, black interior, 390 (Z-code), Cruise-O-Matic, P/S, P/B, AM-radio, remote mirror

CURRENT – Unmodified, totaled in accident

HISTORY – It was bought new in Denver by an executive for Gates Rubber Co. The car must have been special-ordered by the first owner. Samoan Coral was a Thunderbird and Lincoln color (Mercury labeled it as Bittersweet, but same color code, “L”). Samoan Coral was promoted as a springtime special color, but my car was built a few months before this. It had 54,200 actual miles on it when I bought it in 2010 (seller was in Aurora, CO) and had spent the prior 15 years sitting in a garage – still had the Colorado inspection sticker with a 1996 expiration date. The car also still had Gates brand tires on it. Gates went out of the tire business in the early-1970s. Other items still on the car included the original spark plug wires and original shocks. There were two or three other owners between the first and me, one of which was the original owner’s maid. This car has been featured in Auto Restorer magazine and Ford Classics. My car was totaled in July 2023 when hit from behind. Mileage was then 79,025.
